The task was to make an modern extension for a family of four living in Krommenie. The goal was not only to create architecture which provides extra living space, but also to connect the current building and the extension to the garden and the extensive view of the green meadows of the Zaanstreek. Form and façade are optimised to take advantage of the sun, natural light and the view. The front site of the extension has a modest look, fitting for the rustic atmosphere and character of the Zaanstreek. The back site is fitting for the wants of a modern build dwelling.
